Mattie Allen began her martial arts journey in 2011, starting with jiu jitsu. Within six months, she expanded her training to include Muay Thai and the self-defense style of Hagana. Since then, she has trained in Kali, Krav Maga, KFM, and various other forms of martial arts and self-defense, including occasional training with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
In 2013, Mattie started teaching a self-defense program at a gun store. By 2017, she transitioned full-time to 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu, focusing on no-gi training. In November 2021, she earned her black belt in no-gi jiu jitsu under Professor Eddie Bravo.
Mattie has competed in several local jiu jitsu competitions, as well as on UFC Fight Pass for the Eddie Bravo Invitational for women, known as Medusa, competing at strawweight (115 lbs) in October 2021 and again in March 2022.
